So you just finished the last chapter of your novel. Imagine, two years and two hundred thousand words later it is complete. So now you go to start up your personal computer and send the files off to friends and publishers and your PC won’t load. In fact all you see is a bright blue screen telling you that there is an error. You can’t reload your operating system because it will erase your work. So what do you do? This is the classic scenario for which there is a need to recover data. Now the question is how do we get it done? Obviously two years work on a novel or thousands of business records are more valuable than the computer itself. We need to rescue our data and reload it somewhere secure.

The first step to recover data is to determine whether the cause of the failure is a physically damaged drive or simply a failed segment of our operating system. A broken device is usually apparent due to smoke or excessive noise from the area of the drive. In this case we must remove the hard drive unit and bring it to a skilled data recovery service lab. Only such a lab has the sterile conditions and skilled staff needed to recover data from a broken hard drive. Should the failure be due to a logic crash then what is needed is a powerful program for data recovery. These programs are targeted to specific operating systems such as windows or Apple and will quickly scan an entire drive. Once scanned the information on the crashed drive can be written to disk or saved elsewhere. For a complete explanation of how to recover data visit The Recover Data Blog.

Most people think that once a file has been deleted it is forever lost to the netherworld of doomed data. In truth most PC users have no idea how files are deleted and to where deleted files are deleted. Actually a deleted file is not removed from the storage device at all. It is simply relabeled as an empty space while it awaits new data to be overwritten. In many cases even this has not been done. In Windows systems deleted files are placed in a temporary storage area called the recycle bin. They can be restored at any time unless he bin has been emptied. Amazingly once the bin is emptied the files can still be found and restored. However this process requires a program design exactly for this purpose.

There are programs developed to recover deleted files on any kind of computer using any kind of operating system. Actually this is an important key when one wants to recover deleted files. A PC using Linux needs a Linux recovery program, A Mac needs Mac and Windows needs a Windows tool. There are even tools to recover deleted files from MP4 players and digital cameras. A complete explanation of how files are accidentally deleted and what you can do to recover them is available at recoverdeletedfilesblog.wordpress.com.

I have two laptops at home from years past that are in need of repair. Each developed problems with its hard drive. One was damaged during a power outage and the other displays what is known as the blue screen of death. That being a loss of the files needed to start up the operating system. Now both of these laptops are obsolete and are in no way worth repairing. What I do need from them are my personal and business files that until recently were locked away for all time in the matrix of the computer file system. I note ‘until recently’ because I now understand how to recover the data stored on each of these PCs. I discovered this knowledge at The File Recovery Blog. The website is part of a large free internet library set up to describe conditions for hard drive failure and solutions for data recovery.

At the File Recovery Blog I learned that data locked away in one of my laptops can be recovered by using a simple yet powerful program designed to scan my hard disk and clone its information onto other media. Unfortunately, I also discovered that my other laptop would need to be sent to a data recovery lab if I want to rescue its files. In both cases I was able to diagnose my dilemma quickly and easily with the help from the information at The File Recovery Blog.

Does your computer hard drive make a constant clicking noise as it tries to access files? Has it failed completely? On the surface this would imply that your drive is physically damaged and the data is locked away in the broken drive. But often that clicking sound occurs not because the hard disk head is frozen but because it is trying to find a missing partition on the hard drive disk and from that point access deeper data. So how can you tell the difference between a physical problem (broken hard drive) and a logic crash (missing files)? You begin with a visit to the Hard Drive Recovery Blog. This helpful illustrated web page completely explains both how a computer hard drive works and how to tell the difference between a broken drive and one that is merely stalled by lost data.

The Hard Drive Recovery Blog offers insightful instructions on not only how to determine the cause of your problem but what is the best choice for repair. The user at little or no cost can remedy many logic crash problems. The Hard Drive Recovery Blog examines all options for hard drive repair including drive replacement, do-it-yourself data recovery and finding a qualified data recovery technician.

RAID Systems are collaborations of multiple hard drive disks into systems that allow fast access to data. The idea for them began almost twenty years ago when large organizations needed to stored more data and retrieve it faster. By taking data and dividing it up among many disks each could send a segment to the call at once and effectively speed the process of sending data as much as ten or twenty fold. Another benefit of these arrays was that data could be duplicated in an overlap design so as to protect information in the event of a system failure. RAID systems are in use for almost every large-scale data handling operation. Of course as with any complicated system then can fail and when RAID systems fail the required skilled technicians for the process of Raid recovery.

For anyone interested in or working with RAID systems there is now available on the Internet a complete web log set up as a simple explanation of RAID systems and requirements for RAID recovery. Titled the Raid Recovery Blog the site is written in an easy to follow non technical style that will allow anyone to understand what RAID systems are and how to find a qualified RAID recovery company.

Microsoft Outlook has quickly become the world’s most popular e-mail system. The primary reason for this is that the program is included in the Windows Office suite which is the most popular data presentation system in the world. Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express are the most widely used e-mail systems in existence. The Outlook program also serves for shared mailboxes, calenders, public folders and time allocation applications. As versitile as this program is, it has definite limitations which often can result in lost or deleted files. Microsoft Outlook .PST files are limited in size to 2GB. Exceeding this size limit often results in corruption of the data. As with any file, corruption can be caused by the process of compression.

Another area of concern is when data recovery software of insufficient quality is used to recover Outlook mails.
